Dear NSHS Community:

March is whirlwind for performances and exhibitions!  I am thrilled that we have so many students participating in events that stretch their creative capacity and builds community within and without the bounds of NSHS.  

It was wonderful to see many of you during NSHS' 8th grade Parent's Night!  It was our first year welcoming parents and students into our classrooms, thank you for your feedback it will help us to develop the best possible experience for families new to South!  A huge thank you to all of our teacher and student volunteers!  

Theatre news:

 Rent is SOLD OUT!  If you have one of the hottest tickets in town, we look forward to seeing you at the show on the 16-18th.  

Music news:

The Jazz Ensemble won a gold metal at MAJE!  Congratulations to the MVP players: Abygale Miller on alto sax, Danny Silverston on piano and Caleb Fried on trumpet. 

The MMEA's All State Music festival and concert is happening on March 9-11th.  Congratulations to our performers: Kenta Bara, cello, Lucy Chae, Violin, Katie Chuang, Cello, Claire Deng, violin, Caroline Saksena, String Bass, Jason Crowley, alto saxophone, Caleb Fried, trumpet, and Jonathan Kronheimer, oboe.  

siuyLater in the moth, our performing groups will compete in the MICCA concert festival.  Event details will be updated in our events calendar the week of 3/19.

Art news:

The Boston Globe Scholastic Exhibition (3/11-3/26) and awards ceremony (3/11) is happening in the middle of March.  Come see NSHS' student work and other gold key works from around Massachusetts at the Boston Public Schools' Headquarter, the Bolling Building in Roxbury.  The exhibition will be open every day from noon to 6pm Saturday, March 11th to Sunday, March 26th.
