Dear NSHS Community:

In August, our teacher team was hard at work putting away supplies, building still lifes, getting instruments ready, and holding rehearsals. (We just can't wait to get started!)  I'm proud to announced that our second annual Band Orientation Day was a huge success.  Our seasoned musicians helped to welcome our rising 9th grade musicians on Arena Day with a tour and a rehearsal.  Musicians were not the only ones getting a head start on the school year.  Actors in the fall musical,  Cyrano de Bergerac, have been hard at work learning how to swing swords, and command the stage.  If you're a 9th grader thinking about how much fun working in the theatre sounds, be sure to come out for the Frosh Play.  Not long from now we will also be announcing the opening of a joint North/South Photography and ceramics show at the Newton Free Library.   Check below for discipline specific updates.

I hope that you will visit this site often during the year to view pictures from around the 9,000's, check out performance calendars (ready the first weeks of September), and to celebrate the accomplishments of our students with us.  If, at any time, you have any questions, please reach out to me:

To those of you that are old friends, welcome back!   To all who we haven't met yet, we're looking forward to building a creative relationship.
